Saturday Matinee: Revelation of the Pyramids

This has gotten a lot of comment on the Facebook page and I'm sure everyone else will get a rise out of it as well. A lot of people might be all pyramided out-- or at least tired of some of the boilerplate floating around out there on the topic-- but this may change your mind. Here's the pitch from the doc's producers:
The Revelation Of The Pyramids takes an in depth look into one of the seven wonders of the world, the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Mystery has surrounded these epic structures for centuries with theories varying from the scientific to the bizarre.

However with over thirty-seven years of in depth research taking in sites from China, Peru, Mexico and Egypt, one scientist has as at last managed first to understand and then to reveal what lies behind this greatest of archaeological mysteries: a message of paramount importance for all mankind, through time and space.

I hope you enjoy it and get something out of it. Any thoughts or links are always appreciated.

  1. Hi Chris,

Is a fascinating documentary. Not sure about the star correlations but the idea of these edifices being a message to the future seems to make sense. Graham Hancock covered the same ground in Fingerprints of the Gods. The hypothesis that ancient engineers managed to build earthquake-proof complexes using identical engineering all around the world screams 'Common culture' to everyone but mainstream science. Imagine 500yrs in the future someone looks at the Empire State Building and the Petronas towers. They were built at different times, on different continents. The Empire state is art deco while the Petronas towers have clear Islamic styling... but it required common engineering & mathematics developed over centuries to build both of them. Would the future archaeologist assume they were made entirely independently? With simple tools (the cranes would be long gone)? Our common culture is well-known, who exactly was behind the ancient common culture?

Why were they unable to get their technology into the wider world? We see hundreds of tantalising hints (was trepanation merely primitives drilling holes in people's heads to let the evil spirits out? Or was it a form of brain surgery to relieve pressure or reduce fluid build-up?) but can't put the whole picture together.

Perhaps technological society collapses quickly in event of natural disasters or some mental change in the populous. Maybe our culture is on the verge of doing so. I'm constantly amazed at how the Extropian types tell us tech is advancing faster than ever and yet the 'Big' advancements were pretty much all worked out by the late 60s (nuclear power, jet engines, computers, rockets, antibiotics and so on). Our computers are nicer & the Internet is great but we seem to be making little progress these days in tackling the important stuff - cures for cancer, cheap energy and the like. Even computer hardware is close to hitting a brick wall without radical changes - many of which have been proposed but not really implemented.

A related documentary is Into Eternity, about the construction of the Onkalo nuclear waste repository - a facility that will have to last tens of thousands of years. The doc looks at the challenges facing the designers - how do you send a message of danger to our far off descendants when they may not speak any current Earth language & could have a culture totally alien to us? How do you stop them thinking the lethal material is some sort of buried treasure or of great artistic significance?

    Pic here:

Watch it after the Pyramids and your head will be full of questions for weeks.

I guess its also worth mentioning the Long Now clock - a proposed timepiece the makers hope will work for ten millennia:

Before I disappear, here's another 'hint' about ancient technology. Dentistry 7-9000 years ago:

  2. Good one, happy to revisit this topic with a well done film...just left me wondering what is the date the Leo star lines up with the Sphinx? I imagine we are almost at the end of the 26,000 year cycle? I have spent many hours reading Graham Hancock and Andrew Collins material and this did bring a few new realisations. I am especially fond of math and physics integration.

  3. Hi Chris,

Many thanks for that excellent documentary. Do you know about the work of Robert Felix ?
His book "magnetic reversals-evolutionary leaps" is a real mind blower. Please get it , you won't see thinks the same way after !
    Be well

  4. Yeah, really, when does the Sphinx gaze fall upon Regulus? Cool about phi and pi and all but when does the star alignment occur?

    I mean, sheesh.

You want Hand of God stuff, what about the ratio of the diameter of the moon and sun from the earth being 108 (thus allowing eclipses to occur)? And 108 being 1 to the 1st power, times 2 to the 2nd, times 3 to the 3rd. Coincidence? Did Jimmy Olsen like peanut butter? I think not.

  5. CK
I check in to your site every now and then and stumbled upon this doco. I'm a bit stumped by his conclusion though ie. ignore the pyramid's message and we may pay the price. Stumped because it's not like we can do anything to avert the pending disaster. In the end, was this just another 2012 video? LOL
Very entertaining - thanks for disclosing the sinister sun's diabolical plot to destroy us all - yet again!
And yet it is the sun that gives Superman his power - but Superman is not real - he only exists in the imagination... Now, how does the sun give our imagination its power? By taking the life from us that keeps us separated from our imagination.
