Galaxy Gate: Heaven's Gate and the Secret Origin of Galaxy Quest

Heaven's Gate, the San Diego-based cult that committed mass suicide in 1997 in hopes of hitching a ride on a UFO trailing a passing comet, were in many ways a surprisingly traditional Gnostic cult. But at the same time they were ultimately a product of Hollywood, particularly Hollywood science fiction franchises like Star Trek and Star Wars.

So it's no surprise they showed up in a number of Hollywood productions, some openly acknowledged, and in one particular instance, not so much.

Code-Breaking the Craft: It Takes Two

What we're looking at isn't about a religion or a fraternity, it's about the entire foundation of all high-initiate ritualism, spanning back thousands -- perhaps even tens of thousands -- of years. Rituals that were mind-crushingly ancient before the world ever even heard of Abraham or Jesus, never mind Albert Pike.

It's also about the purpose of the ritualism we're seeing being carried out on a near-weekly basis these days.

Flame on the Crown of Her Influence

The landmark Notre Dame cathedral in Paris was heavily damaged by fire yesterday. Happily, much of the structure is intact and many of the priceless works of art had either been previously moved or were rescued.

It took a very long time to build this architectural masterwork, and it will take a long time to repair it. Donations are already being made for its restoration.

Supernovas and Star Sorcery

The glowing Orb is officially a thing. We keep seeing it in odd places, most recently this enigmatic music video from Ariana Grande (with a guest appearance by Nikki Minaj, who seems to be fraying a bit at the edges lately).

"Orange Has Always Been Ours"

So I'm hearing some grumbling that things are moving too fast around here and folks are having trouble keeping up.

Believe me, I know the feeling.

The Never-Ending Ritual: "Adorned with Garlands"

As per usual there's more to cover than there's time to cover it, so forgive me if I just drop some rapid-fire syncs and factoids on you and open up the floor.

Today, of course, is Garlands Day, the traditional day of sacrifices to the gods of the waters, and there is so much going on out there my head is stuck on spin-cycle.

The Royal Scam: Fire on Babylon

OK, this is going to be some hit and run Synchromysticism. There's a lot to sort through and I don't have a lot of time so let's do this. Feel free to expand and expound in the comments section. I'll try to revisit this story if I can spare a few.

But yeah, this thing just keeps on shootin' out the synchery, so much so that I wonder what we're really seeing here. I get the feeling it's going somewhere weird and dark.

Born to Kill

All right, this bullshit again.

I was planning to do a post about the anniversary of Chris Cornell's death but here we are. I don't have a lot to say about this that isn't being said already, mind you.

Met Gala 2018: Wonder with Great Admiration!

OK, so Riri "wins" the Super Bowl of Fashion with her pearl-encrusted Anti-Pope LARP? OK, it's...I mean...

Wait.

I was going to say that...

OK, they've finally stumped me.

NXIVM: Eros Ouranos Thanatos

Well, I have some good news, some bad news and some insanely-terrible news. Which do you want to hear first?

OK, the good news? The world is being re-paganized at an almost-unimaginably rapid pace.

Wild Wild Country, or the Kingdoms of the Cults

By now you've probably heard of--if not seen-- the Netflix documentary series Wild Wild Country about Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh's (AKA Osho) cult and their takeover of a tiny city in rural Oregon in the 1980s. It's a fascinating story, one that I remember watching news reports on back in the day quite well.

This being the 80s, the spin generally tended to veer towards, "look at these crazy cultists, up there rutting and chanting and losing their marbles. Aren't they horrible? Isn't this an affront to our American way of life?" To which my response tended to be along the lines of, "Holy crap, that place looks awesome."

Hormones. They cloud the mind.

Dubai Prepares for New Nephilim Genesis

How y'all doing today? Feeling good? Yeah?
Terrific.

Well, I don't know about you but I sure as hell am in a coma. So either you're all just figments of my imagination or you're all in comas too and we're communicating via unconscious telepathy, what they euphemistically call the "Coma Internet."

So let's get into it.

Go-Go, Vegas, Go!

The floodgates are now open. All of the huge marketing and PR consulting firms have cashed their seven and eight-figure paychecks and the marching orders have all been handed out to the media.

The word has been passed down from on high, and the word is "Vega."

2018: Same Great 2017 Taste, with 33% More Apocalypse!

"Some people are falling for it." Of course they are, because those mannequins don't look anything at all like oversized action figures. And the bumpkins and naifs who attend the Consumer Electronics Show aren't used to seeing these kinds of exhibits, right?

But hey, you gotta push those antihuman memes so what's a little white lie for the cause?

Babylon's Burning

Well, California wildfires are back in the news, this time in the south. Because these fires are striking at a major nerve center, so to speak, they seem to be getting a lot more attention in the news. And because of this we're getting a flood of truly terrifying images, film and video.

Terrifying and apocalyptic. Is 2017 working up to a Hollywood climax?

Beauty and the Beast (of Revelation)

Well, it's nearly 6 AM and I've been up all night poring over this material. And I have to say it's taken me in a direction I was not expecting. I really am beginning to wonder if we actually are all video game characters in some large-scale version of The Nines, because I feel as if this entire narrative was written long in advance of me stumbling onto it.

Other than the ways you might think, in light of the subject matter.

Never-Ending Rituals: Ka of Hathor-Isis on the Mall

"A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun..."

Well, this week began with a mass shooting event that just happened to fall on the Occultation of Aldebaran (identified with the Archangel Michael), then saw Trump and Melania's weird diplomatic rituals in Japan (that just happened to symbolically harmonize with an astral Journey to the Underworld), the Masonic Tercentennial, the opening of the Bloomberg SPACE Mithraeum, the "Scream at the Sky" ritual lament and the announcement of a performance of the deadly "Siren Song" mass ritual in Perth next February.

What can this week possibly do for an encore?

"Full of Ritual"

I'm not sure why The Guardian chose to write about it now, but the city of Perth has its arts festival coming up in February. And apparently the program for the festival is-- and I quote-- "full of ritual."

Of course it is. Because sooner than you think, everything will be.

"The Great Siren That Sitteth Upon Many Waters..."

Mermaid Mania shows now sign of stopping but leave it to Richard Branson to take it all to the next level.

I mean, what's a manufactured Apocalypse without a Scarlet Woman, right?
