Who's Laughing Now?

Space is an Altar: Psyche Out

A grim and ominous week of war and stellar sorcery, all coinciding with a "Ring of Fire" eclipse? Sure sounds apocalyptic to me. How about you?

Apocalypse-Synching: Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign

Some folks really get bent out of shape when I start talking apocalypse. I'm not quite sure why: it's not like it's the end of the world.

Well, you know what I mean.

Stanley and the Sibyl: A Space Odyssey of Sync

Philip K Dick once said that Reality is that which doesn't go away when you stop believing in it. I can't say for sure, but my guess is that ol' Phil was probably referring to the one whose then-imminent coming he had so often been compelled to prophesy.

"What More Do You Need?"

One of my favorite 90s films is The Rapture, written and directed by Michael Tolkin, and starring Mimi Rogers and David Duchovny. Instead of the usual Hollywood sneer-fest, the film treats the topic and its subjects with the utmost seriousness and then goes whole-hog in the climax, which I have to admit I was definitely not expecting.

I love this scene in particular, seeing how it has a fellow freed prisoner ask a petulant Mimi Rogers, "What more do you need," as Gabriel blows his horn and the big show begins. See, I often think the same thing when it comes to the endless signs and wonders connected to another apocalyptic herald, one you may have heard a thing or two about around these parts.

Laugh While You Still Can

The Oracle of Grangemouth by Kara Bohleman

Recently, an Onion knock-off called The Hard Times took aim at yours truly with a piece called, "We Figured Out What Cocteau Twins Were Saying but It’s Too Late, the Prophecy Is Already in Motion." The byline is apparently a fake name, but I'm guessing this guy heard me on Greg's show or another podcast on YouTube.

Or maybe he was dunking on that other guy running around ranting about the Cocteau Apocalypse.

The Lighter Side of Apocalypse

Well, it's finally begun.

My head's kind of spinning at the moment and I really have no idea "what's really going on" with this thing. I could theorize all night and day but I'd just be whistling in the dark.

As you all know, I'm a big fan of "staying in your lane," so let's just do whatever the hell it is we do around here.

JLo Made the Secret-Sunniest Video EVER

Well, weirdo Indie artists like Grimes are one thing, but what do you do when one of the biggest superstars in the entire world makes a video bursting at the seams with all these crazy Emergent Archetypal Dominants® I've been bashing my head bloody for the better part of two years trying to open people's eyes to?

I guess bash my head some more.

A Taste of Your Own Medicine

Our man Boosephus pointed me in the direction of the new JLo video, "Medicine." I strongly suspect he did so because he's a sadist.

CERN Opened the Door: What Came Through?

I get that some folks might find talk about supernovas and subatomic particles a bit too abstract, a bit too theoretical. It's anything but.

What we're looking at and what we're trying to unpack is the work certain scientists with unlimited budgets and technology are undertaking in a quest to rip dimensional doors off their hinges and gain access to other universes.

And let other universes gain access to us

Space is an Altar: Out Back, Counting Stars.

There's a provocative headline for you. I've been following Diana Walsh Pasulka since she appeared on Rune Soup a while back and am quite intrigued by her research. I can't say I'm as intrigued by this headline here and I'm not entirely sure it's a fair assessment of her book, partly because I haven't had the pleasure of reading it yet.

But an alien religion "taking root among the powerful" isn't exactly a news flash to Secret Sun readers, is it?

There Goes the Sun

Well, it's quite brisk around these parts, my friends. I find it rather invigorating with the sun shining, somewhat less so when it's overcast. And if the trend-lines hold I'll probably have adjusted my opinions rather considerably in a few weeks or so.

All the more so if the Bond-villain schemes spewing out of Harvard University (the time-honored spawning ground of many an aspiring Bond-villain scheme) come to fruition.

Knock, Knock. Who's There? It. It Who? It Never Ends.

Well, 'Oumuamua continues to vex star-watchers. The Vegas' mothership anomalous space-projectile seems to behave in very strange ways, leading scientists at Harvard University to conclude that it may in fact be a dislodged solar sail from an extraterrestrial galactic probe.

Ever get the feeling that sciences like astronomy were invented to keep really smart people too busy to cause trouble? Y'know, kinda like Synchromysticism?

It's a Pearly Dewdrop The Rock

Everyone loves The Rock. You love him, I love him, America loves him, the world loves him. Hell, even my dog loves The Rock. Yours probably does too.

Infotrainment Week: Hunk of Burning Love

Well, it looks like the Wicker Man meme isn't going anywhere any time soon. I wish it would; the Nic Cage travesty nearly ruined the original for me.

But what exactly is the pretext here?

Supernovas and Star Sorcery

The glowing Orb is officially a thing. We keep seeing it in odd places, most recently this enigmatic music video from Ariana Grande (with a guest appearance by Nikki Minaj, who seems to be fraying a bit at the edges lately).

Met Gala 2018: Wonder with Great Admiration!

OK, so Riri "wins" the Super Bowl of Fashion with her pearl-encrusted Anti-Pope LARP? OK, it's...I mean...

Wait.

I was going to say that...

OK, they've finally stumped me.
