In 1960, the powerful Washington think tank The Brookings Institute released a white paper which included a section on UFOs and ETs, outlining a number of various scenarios for poltical and military leaders should contact ever occur. 

Brookings was pessimistic about such an event, noting that societies don't tend to react favorably when confronted with a superior technological advancement.

What's Wrong with the Sun?

The operative element in "Synchronicity" is time- the Greek root means "to be contemporary" or "happen at the same time" (syn 'together' & chronos 'time'). So when we're looking for synchronicities- or something else, perhaps- we keep an eye on the timing of events.

Since the dawn of time, there have been reports of strange objects flying over heads. Since the 19th Century, with the advent of photography and motion pictures, we've had hundreds of thousands of images captured of this strange objects. Are they extraterrestrial spaceships?

OK, I've got a lot of ground to cover here - I'm going to try to cover some of the weirdness aspects of Apollo 11, as well as all of the varying theories and controversies over it. But I did want to hit this story.

The big "news" this week was the so-called "discovery" of water (or past evidence of it, rather) on Mars. Of course, they've known about all of that for ages, but the announcement was surely timed for some obscure/arcane purpose we can only guess at.

Alien Dreaming and the Widening Gyre

2009 is the Year of the Alien, innit? Well, at least in the movies. X-Files producer/director Bob Goodwin goes old-school with his tribute to classic BEM sci-fi with Alien Trespass. 

Goodwin enlists John "Anubis" Doggett (aka T1000, aka Robert Patrick ) and Eric McCormack (Will of Will & Grace fame) for the invasion, as well as the delightful Jenni Baird, who added a bit of smolder to the last season of The 44oo.

Intelligent civilisations are out there and there could be thousands of them, according to an Edinburgh scientist. The discovery of more than 330 planets outside our solar system in recent years has helped refine the number of life forms that are likely to exist. The current research estimates that there are at least 361 intelligent civilisations in our Galaxy and possibly as many as 38,000.
