"Just Around the Corner"

Everyone is a skeptic and a believer, when you get right down to it. Everyone has their own set of beliefs and their own set of hopes and dreams. Everyone has had disappointments and experiences that teach them to be wary and untrusting.

NASA Gets Sirius on the 17th

Well, I'm sure most of you noticed this little ritual this past week-- the Shuttle Discovery making a series of passes around the landmarks of Washington, DC astride a NASA 747.

The Sand is Stained with the Blood of the Gods.

I don't know if John Lilly's version of the omniscient Orbital Machine Intelligence (OMI) which he named ECCO (for "Earth Coincidence Control Office") is as true or as real than any other OMI fever-dream.

The 17th Gus Grissom Post

When I first began digging into the Gus Grissom enigma I was driven by a hunch, more than anything. I was poking around Barack Obama's biography after the election and kept stumbling on links to the dead astronaut while cross-referencing dates and places that were important to the Obama campaign.

Something's Happening Here

Where were we? Well, we were talking about the UN alien-ambassador story which was announced, then denied, then "debunked," then the subject of a legal complaint against the would-be debunkers. The story seems to have kicked up a hornet's nest behind the scenes, with claims and and counterclaims and denials, giving the distinct impression- to me, at least- that someone's been telling tales out of school.

Secret Sun Picture Parade: The Cosmic Ghost

Well, it's Sync Log time here on The Secret Sun: the previous post dealt with my encounter with a ghost-like anomaly, and sure enough HuffPost and NAZCA NASA team up for this juicy sync about some enormous black hole or something.

Atlantis Rising, Part 4: Beyond the Stars

Cocoon was followed by the obligatory sequel in 1988, but the film went nowhere. Neither did this 1989 film written and directed by the author of the novel Cocoon was (loosely) based on, but it's a lot more interesting for our purposes here.

Astronaut Theology: Beyonce Rising, or Isis in Chains

Let's backtrack to the announcement Barack Obama (or Barackobamun, if you prefer) made on the 42nd Anniversary of Gus Grissom's death:
CAPE CANAVERAL — President Barack Obama will ask Congress to extend International Space Station operations through at least 2020 but abandon NASA's current plans to return U.S. astronauts to the moon, administration and NASA officials said Wednesday.

What the Hell is Going on Up There?

  This came out of nowhere:
CAPE CANAVERAL — President Barack Obama will ask Congress to extend International Space Station operations through at least 2020 but abandon NASA's current plans to return U.S. astronauts to the moon, administration and NASA officials said Wednesday.

The Astral Annointing of Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson were the big winners at tonight’s American Music Awards ceremony, with the former picking up five awards, including Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist in the pop/rock and country categories, and Favorite Adult-Contemporary Artist (the teen accepted her awards live via satellite from London) - Wall St. Journal

Gus Grissom/Obama Meme Going Viral?

In the past 36 hours this blog has been bombarded with thousands of hits, after a Drudge Report-type site linked to part one of the Gus Grissom/Barackobamun piece. There were the usual corny old jokes about "tinfoil hats" and all of the rest of the worn-out snark in the comments sections (along with some stunning displays of poor reading comprehension), but that represents only a tiny percentage of the traffic.

Star Trek: The ReGenesis of Gus Grissom

“I grew up on Star Trek.
I believe in the final frontier.” - Barackobamun

Just about this time last year I was looking at the strange semiotic links between
Star Trek and a young, up and coming politician, who had just secured the Democratic nomination for President.

Celebrating the 17th

Don't you think the blue and gold chairs go well with the rug?

Today is February 17th and today Barack Obama will be in Denver signing the "Stimulus Package" into law. He's chosen a very strange venue to do so:
The bill-signing, an unusual event outside of Washington, will be Tuesday at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science in City Park... "This is like a dream," said George Sparks, director of the museum." - Denver Post

A Very Sirius Presidency: Stations of the Gus

Yesterday, Barack Obama traveled to the state Gus Grissom was born to sell his economic stimulus package to the public, 13 days after the 42nd anniversary of the astronaut's death.

Today's stop? The state where Gus Grissom died. Just a coincidence, surely.

Barack Obama and the Masonic Martyr: Real Life

OK, so the first episode of the Obama Era for Life (the previous episode aired 12/17/08) deals with a martyred astronaut named "Bull" Ellis who just happens to be tight with the President of the United States (a fact of which we are reminded of throughout the episode).

Huh. I guess that's what they call a coincidence, no?

Barack Obama and the Masonic Martyr

If I had to guess, I would say that Barack Obama is a Freemason, possibly of the Order of Prince Hall, or more likely, in one of the many clandestine or affiliated Masonic orders. We have no documentation on that as yet, but it is certainly interesting that the Freemasons are holding their first-ever (public) inaugural ball in his honor.
