That's awesome. Because there isn't enough ritual-sacrifice symbolism out there in the media already.

Shimmer Me Timbers: Annihilation Reconsidered

Well, in the grand Secret Sun tradition I am finally getting around to posting my thoughts on Annihilation, the recent(ish) sci-fi film starring Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Tessa Thompson. 

The TL;DR? I liked the film quite a bit. But I probably would have liked it quite a bit more if it were fiction.

As usual it's been a week filled with syncs, signs and signals.  So much so that it's time to drag out the card table, serve up the artisanal cheese puffs and strawberry-wheat microbrews and play a few rounds of Secret Sun Scrabble.

I'm Looking Through a Hole in the Sky

There's no letup in the action around Secret Sun Central. I have a huge and growing backlog of posts to finish and the symbols and syncs show no signs of slowing down. I do want to try to hammer all of this into some kind of coherent exegesis but you gotta fish while they're biting. There's always time to filet it all later.
