Jack Kirby, Mindbomb: Face the Facts
This post has been kicking around the queue for quite a while now. But after trying to wrap my brain around the whole topic, I thought I'd revisit the issue after reading that the whole Council of Nine group were involved with the whole Mars controversy, and that some had claimed that the Face had been seen by remote viewing several years before the Viking missions.

Star Trek: The Emissary of the Nine
"Nothing to fear from (17 mile long) atom-smasher"
Yahoo News, again...
MEYRIN, Switzerland - The most powerful atom-smasher ever built could make some bizarre discoveries, such as invisible matter or extra dimensions in space, after it is switched on in August. The collider basically consists of a ring of supercooled magnets 17 miles in circumference attached to huge barrel-shaped detectors. The ring, which straddles the French and Swiss border, is buried 330 feet underground. The machine, which has been called the largest scientific experiment in history, isn't expected to begin test runs until August, and ramping up to full power could take months. But once it is working, it is expected to produce some startling findings.17, 33. Gotcha.

Thou Art Revenged
My favorite scene from my favorite Star Trek movie. I can't help but thinking that Picard's speech was actually addressing a much, much older grudge than what we see on the screen. What do you think this is all meant to symbolize?

Pyramids Once Hidden Behind the Iron Curtain
Where do those crazy EU guys go to drown their sorrows after the Irish No vote? Send those nutty clowns to Siberia!
Seriously! Get 'em outta here!
Het, that's an interesting eight-sided pyramid...
The Crystal Skull of "Knowledge"
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is one of those films that absolutely defies synchromystic analysis by shoving it all in your face, down your throat, out the other end and back again.

Yahooccultism: The Maya, 2012, and Ovarygate!
Midsummer Fires Factoids
Lest we forget...
• The first Masonic Grand Lodge was established this day in 1717.
• The Sovereign Order of the Solar Temple was established this day in 1966. Not to be confused with the similarly named Order of the Solar Temple, this group claimed Princess Grace of Monaco as a member.
• It's also The Feast Day of St. John the Baptist, venerated by both the Knights Templar and the Freemasons.

Yahooccultism: "Everything Seemingly is Spinning out of Control"
Yahoo 17 Week Addenda: This cheery story went up yesterday, but I missed it. Today has the Mars thing on the front page again.
Everything Seemingly is Spinning out of Control
Everything Seemingly is Spinning out of Control
By ALAN FRAM and EILEEN PUTMAN, Associated Press Writers Sun Jun 22, 4:13 AM ET WASHINGTON - Is everything spinning out of control? Midwestern levees are bursting. Polar bears are adrift. Gas prices are skyrocketing. Home values are abysmal. Air fares, college tuition and health care border on unaffordable. Wars without end rage in Iraq, Afghanistan and against terrorism.
Even so, a battered public seems discouraged by the onslaught of dispiriting things. An Associated Press-Ipsos poll says a barrel-scraping 17 percent of people surveyed believe the country is moving in the right direction. That is the lowest reading since the survey began in 2003.Interesting time stamp: 4+13=17.
The Mars time stamp? 1:25. 12+5=?

Yahooccultism: The Week in 17
Saturday, June 21, 2008
Congratulations, Your Credit Score is 17!
Yes, 17 is excellent! It wears the Sun as its crown! Its excellence is proclaimed from the River, which is the source of all life!
As Goes California...?
Note the Mithraic phallus protruding
from the face of the Sun.
Very few people outside of the LA area have heard of it, but Santa Barbara has a massive Summer Solstice parade every year.

Secret Star Trek: Sisk-O-Bama and the Council of Nine
Following the smash success of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Paramount created a new spinoff series, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The story took place on a space station abandoned by the Cardassians, who had occupied a planet known as Bajora. The planet was crucial since it guarded an interdimensional wormhole that allowed intergalactic travel.
You can call it a Stargate if you like. Same difference.

Secret Star Trek: "Nine in a Line"
As some of you may know, the town of Vulcan in Alberta has made itself the Star Trek mecca of the world.
But it was once famous for something else:
Secret Star Trek: Where Are We Boldly Going?
In Star Trek: The Next Generation and beyond, the Federation seems like nothing less a new Mother Church with Starfleet being its new Knights Templar. The Federation logo is essentially the same as that of the United Nations, a circle bordered by laurel leaves, but adds typically Solar motifs. The (Masonic) blue spacefield features planets and three cruciform stars and a (Masonic) gold ring.

"Go Green"
Man, that whole thing with Ra symbolizing the green sun sure opened up a can of worms. Interesting to note that as we march towards 2012- which some people believe will culminate in alien contact/invasion - we see this "Green" craze.
Live green, think green, go green.
Yahooccultism: "The 17th on the 17th"
Oh my, look: "A perfect ending: a 17th title on the 17th of June."
BOSTON (AP)—On a new parquet floor below aging championship banners, the Boston Celtics won their 17th NBA title and a first one—at last—for Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen—their Big Three for a new generation. After 22 long years, the NBA has gone green.Series MVP Paul Pierce shoots 17. His birthday? Why October 13th of course! Interesting in light of the Patriots falling on the wrong side of the 17 enigma earlier this year. Now read the it about Ra and the green sun right below. Come to think of it, that story puts the new BP logo in an interesting light, no pun intended.
Like I Said, Their Sun is Different...
It turns out that Ra might be even more unusual than we've previously assumed. Dwardu Cardona writes on Thunderbolts:

Study: Nature Scenes Can Reduce Stress
Newswise — Technology can send a man to the moon, help unlock the secrets of DNA and let people around the world easily communicate through the Internet. But can it substitute for nature?
Apparently not, according to a new study that measured individuals’ heart recovery rate from minor stress when exposed to a natural scene through a window, the same scene shown on a high-definition plasma screen, or a blank wall. The heart rate of people who looked at the scene through the window dropped more quickly than the others.
In fact, the high-definition plasma screen had no more effect than the blank wall.
Nectar of the Gods
It appears that Anheuser-Busch will be taken over by a Belgian/Brazilian conglomerate, which is yet another milestone in the dismantling of the illusion of American invulnerability. We're talking about one of the core brands of national identity, especially for a large swathe of Middle American working-class men who treat Budweiser as a near-sacrament.

Astronaut Theology: Unknowable Flying Objects
If we are to believe ancient and Medieval artists, the Heavenly Beam that we've looked at followed Jesus around for his entire life. Here we see Jesus' birth heralded by the Heavenly Beam in almost exactly the same fashion as the covert depiction of the birth of Mithras at Rockefeller Center.
Ritual Olympics: "Making This Magic Begin"
Ever wonder what an Olympic ceremony would look like had it been produced by Aleister Crowley?
Well, neither had I until a Rik Clay turned me onto this unbelievable video from the 1984 Summer Olympics. Now, of course, there's no earthly reason to assume this was some mass-scale occult ritual, but boy, it sure plays out like one.

MoCCA Takes Manhattan
Passion by Kensuke Okabayashi
Wow, the action just never stops. After returning home from Esalen and blogging my brains out on Saturday, I hit the MoCCA Art Festival in Manhattan on Sunday. It was an electrifying experience- if you're wondering where the creative excitement and energy is today, it's there.

2008 Super-Normal Seminar: Class Picture
Here are the participants of the Esalen symposium I attended. The official title was "On the Supernormal and the Superpower" and talks were scheduled as to progress from the study of supernatural and super-normal phenomena in real life to their echoes in pop culture, in this case, superhero comics and movies.
