Secret Sun 2024: The Year in Review

What a year, eh? It's been a very busy one here at the Secret Sun Network, a year filled of events ripe with some very familiar symbolism to longtime readers. 

So let's get it on...

2024 was the Year of the Dragon, and dragon imagery was all over the place. I documented some of the syncs and symbols in this post. I can't help but notice how much of it I'd forgotten in the following months, given there was so much ritual insanity afoot this year. 

I wonder if the whole dragon theme is why I'm obsessing on Red Dragon and Manhunter as the year comes to a close.

The Year of the Dragon opened with a very 1979 vibe, and maybe that dissipated a bit without truly evaporating. To try to nail it all down, I posted this overview of '79.

Oddly enough, Jimmy Carter passed away at the age of 100 just as I was working on this post. Here's what I wrote about Carter in that piece.

It's tempting to equate Jimmy Carter with the present husk in the Oval Office but the two really couldn't be less alike. Biden is a fraudulent bullshitter and corrupt hack who learned from older Senatorial sleazebags how to manipulate the system for his personal enrichment. Carter was a moderately-conservative Southern Democrat and sincere Christian, who ran as an outsider and promised to clean Washington up in the wake of the Watergate scandal. 

Predictably, the Deep State responded to Carter's challenge in ways not entirely dissimilar to the treatment they gave Trump forty years later. Or Nixon himself, for that matter.

Carter had his defenders, but he couldn't withstand the onslaught of sabotage and subversion the permanent government constantly dumped on his Administration. 

For instance, Carter's so-called "Malaise Speech" sounds perfectly reasonable and rational today, but it got roasted and relentlessly thrown up in his face because he had the temerity to go after the special interests who were - and still are - sucking the marrow out of America's bones.

We recently had a big livestream on the first - and in my opinion, only - season of True Detective at the Secret Sun Institute, but I posted on the latest season in January. 

Why did I bother? Well, basically because it was a pastiche of recycled riffs from The X-Files, in such an obvious way that it nearly qualifies as fanfic.

But it also presaged the return of the Song to the Siren, which became a major theme in the second half of this year. 

In February, we looked at the eclipse and the ancient Sumerian "Substitute King Ritual," which seemed particularly germane as Joe Biden's cognitive decline became so obvious even the media could no longer cover it up.

The eclipse would become a major running theme here in 2024.

February saw the Taylor Swift-dominated Super Bowl, which was so laden with weird occult symbolism even the normies started to notice. 

The Secret Sun has been covering Super Bowl symbolism since the start, so it's kind of gratifying to see the rest of the world start to catch on.

Speaking of the Secret Sun's salad days, I marked the death of the Superhero Age with a livestream on its true creator, Jack Kirby. 

It was kind of bittersweet after all these decades, but it's good to send the tired old heroes off to Valhalla before we get too sick of them.

The Eclipse theme was revisited with the destruction of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in March, an event that was so laden with supercharged symbolism I almost start to wonder if it were some kind of mass hallucination.

Despite some complaints from a small but very vocal minority, the Sibyl continues to be the most popular running theme here at The Secret Sun. With that in mind - and after years of pleas - I posted a streamlined, phone-friendly version of "Laugh While You Still Can" called "Who's Laughing Now."

It turns out that 2024 was an opportune time to do so, given that the Sibyl began singing to the Siren again in the summer, nearly out of nowhere.

This was the year of strange young men with Italian surnames doing extremely strange things. One of whom was Max Azzarello, who set himself on fire in a New York park across the street from where one of the Trump show-trials was being staged.

As you'd expect, some familiar symbolism was in evidence. So much so that I worried - as I am wont to do in these cases - that Azzarello was a Secret Sun reader.

Your host's hometown of Braintree made the news when a Buffalo Bill wannabe named Jared Ravizza went on a stabbing spree in May. It was all so incredibly odd that I made a video about it.

The Secret Sun Synchromystic Handbook was released this year, and it was finally unleashed by KDP - after several odd delays - on the day before the Sibyl began singing again to the Siren. Could it be any other way?

Probably not.

The Paris Olympics was an absolute trash-fire of occult symbolism so blatant, even the normiest normies who ever normed sat up and took notice. 

I've been talking about this kind of thing for a very long time, so needless to say I was all over it, both here and at the Secret Sun Institute.

I observed the 45th anniversary of the most pivotal year in rock history with a series of posts over at the Secret History of Rock 'n' Roll blog. 

And I'll be doing the same for 1980, starting in January.

With the Election looming, I dove into the plethora of stellar symbolism at work during it, as well as in the Book of Revelation.

The symbolism foresaw the result, but I was anticipating a rerun of 2020. That's not how it played out, however.

The Diddy thing blowing up in October should have been a sign to the media that the Election was not going to go their way, but perhaps they didn't watch my video on it.

You can still watch it here, however.

Finally, 2024 ended with another Italian-American outlaw making a huge splash in the national conversation. That of course being the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson by Joker analog Luigi Mangione. 

The whole event was drenched in extremely Secret Sunnish symbolism, much to the chagrin of all the Secret Sun haters. 

Story of my life, alas. Don't hate me because I'm dutiful.
