"New Dawn" or Another Empire Backfire?

Where have all the people gone?

Wow: nothing says a "new dawn" like a 78 year-old Crypt-Keeper clone presiding over a private wake for the American Imperium, don't you think?

Tired old man, tired old empire, disappointment and cringe so palpable they nearly have physical form. Obama-era divas looking and sounding as stale as Greta Van Fleet. Everyone looking awkward, deflated.

This is a beautiful day. I feel more hopeful than I have in quite some time.

There's way too much happening, so I just want to throw a mess of unfiltered data at you while it's still fresh. We can sift out what it all means in days to come.

Let's start with the fact that someone sang "Hallelujah" - an obscure Leonard Cohen album track that absolutely no one on the planet knew about until Jeff Buckley popularized it-- while the new puppets Administration took part in the Adoration of the Sacred Phallus of Osiris, while the Reflecting Pool (the Womb of Isis, giving birth to the New Aeon) was lined with lights.

I don't ever seeing this ritual performed before, do you?

Well, just in case you didn't get the meaning, they then cut to an orchestra in Las Vegas.

That wasn't the only representation Sin City got. Where's that right hand, Joe?

Meanwhile, CNN continues to be the laughingstock of anyone with more than two brain-cells to rub together.

The old Obama hands are around to make sure the requisite observances were made to the Good Saturnian Shepherd.

Poor Bernie learns the price of cowardice, once again.

Was Algol Gore trolling Flatters or is he transitioning into Doctor Manhattan?

Perhaps both.

"Steve Bannon and 72 others?" Is that like Set and his 72 accomplices? I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Funny how the Trumpers finally figure out semiotic sorcery only once it's too late to do anything with it.

Proving that Twitter pussyhatters all suffer from pathological and unresolved daddy issues, Trump is positively obliterating every other topic of discussion, yet somehow how not making the trending charts.

This is how you can be sure we are the brink of full-blown systemic collapse: the people with an absolute stranglehold on every single institution in this country all have the emotional well-being of severely mentally-ill teenagers.

I give it two months before the entire party breaks out into full-blown internecine civil war. Probably a lot sooner.

Then there's Trump using "YMCA" as his exit song, reminding us this is a guy who spent the late 70s hanging out out with Roy Cohn at Studio 54. I'm sorry, but I've never bought the act.

I asked this to be explained to me and got this priceless response.

My question is this an epic troll by Pearly Pigtails or is that just the spectrum talking? Let me know your guess.

I guess this was the Purple color revolution. Probably end up like all the others did.

The augurs for this new Administration are already disastrous. This Field of Flags gambit is every bit as desperate as it looks.

This is the kind of tactic we saw in Eastern Bloc countries before the fall of Communism. The Party knew this thing would be as poorly attended as Biden's "rallies" and had to cover somehow. I think they just made it worse.

And the campaign to lionize a woman so intensely loathed by her own party that she dropped out before a single primary vote was cast is only making it crazy worse.

This pathetic attempt to paper over her intense cringe factor only reminded me of this...

A GOLDEN new DAWN

This attempt at the "New Dawn" talking point is as sad and deflated as the rest of it. It's really hard to imagine anything new with a very old, very frail man who's been in Washington for five decades.

It almost seems like it was floated, discarded and then taken out of the trash and dusted off by any failed bureaucracy that needs some kind of life raft to cling to.

You can't but wonder if there's some parallel messaging at work, like with this young woman who recited the poem about the "New Dawn" while dressed in gold.

When Mason asked what she felt when she was performing poems, Gorman replied: "When I am on stage, I feel electric. I feel like I could breathe fire...like I am summoning the energy not only of myself but of my ancestors."

Like Obama inaugural poet Richard Blanco, who invoked the grand sweep of American geography in a call for unity in "One Today," Gorman dedicated a portion to "every corner called our country," from the South to the Midwest. She ended with an invitation to "step out of the shade."

"The new dawn blooms as we free it," she said. "For there is always light, if only we are brave enough to see it – if only we are brave enough to be it."

Did she call her poem "The Hill We Climb" because "Running Up That Hill" was already taken?

Cast your vote in the Den.

"Give people light and they will find a way." - Joe Biden

"The hermit goeth solitary, and giveth only of his light unto men." Aleister Crowley

"Or we can choose a different path, and together, take this chance to heal, to be reborn, to unite. A path of hope and light." - Joe Biden

"Light illuminates the path of humanity: it is our own fault if we go over the brink." -Aleister Crowley

And that whole "Light" business again?

What's that all about?

Maybe Garlandi Gaga can explain it to us. Still working on that.

Maybe the New Dawn is actually the "New Don," meaning that Biden is a mirror image of his predecessor. Which, of course, he is.

Loved this photo op though, beneath the Washington as Jupiter Amun mural in the Capitol Dome.

Then of course there were the especially-significant Pearly dewdrops. Pearl necklaces have a very special significance to Officer Harris, as many of you know.

Our Jennifer sported some pearlies while singing "This Land is Your Land," which Garlandi Gaga sang a few years back at the Super Bowl.

And there was that curious string of pearls again, which we saw in JLo's "Medicine (Time Baby 3)" video.

And which I liken to the Pearly Dewdrop Supernova.

Hmm, Super Bowl, Supernova. Need to ponder on that one.

Speaking of "Hallelujah" and "New Dawn," let's not forget this FLAP (Fraser Locational Alignment Pattern) around Aurora, Colorado.

My Inner Jaz Coleman says we should let the Outer Jaz Coleman have the final word, as he nicely encapsulizes my feelings about the day's proceedings.

Back to square one, and the old school backfire
It's just begun, let's watch the blind eyes turning
Stains on the wall, been waiting far too long now
Nice day, blue sky, I watch them shrug their shoulders
Tighten the grip (getting tighter)
Now see the ball is rolling
We take delight, it's been a long wait for this moment

Back to square one, another empire backfire
Back to square one, another empire backfire

Sign of the time, blood pressure running high now
Nowhere to dance, which channel can you turn to?
We take delight, we watch them shrug their shoulders
Let's take delight, it's been a long wait for this moment

Back to square one (now it's my turn)
Another Empire backfire
Back to square one (now it's your turn)
And the old school backfire...
