The Spirits of '79: The Last (New) Wave

It's been a while since I waded through the weird and witchy waters of 1979. With the 45th Anniversary of that very arcane and apocalyptic year coming into the homestretch, I thought it's high time to do so now. Especially since it's feeling very 1979 out there again...

In case you need a refresher - or you're just in the mood for some Grade A infotainment - do check out the previous entries. I think it will all seem very familiar to you in a very strange (and unsettling) way.

This new entry is a bit more light-hearted, since we don't really need any more heaviness or darkness these days. It's part one of a look at the birth of the New Wave movement in 1979, and all its prolific permutations and perambulations.
