A lot of readers asked my opinion of the Sunspot observatory closing. Truth be told it was tough to comment on since there was so little information to actually comment about. And as we do around here, I was looking for the tendrils leading to a bigger beast.

And it all got thrown into perspective on Thursday, at least for me.
