Schiztember is Over. Shocktober Begins.

The second semester of the Secret Sun Institute is now in full swing, and the syllabus has been set. There's no monkeying around this fall - we're firing on all cylinders with a hardcore slate of very deep and dark dives.

We're calling it Secret Sun Shocktober, and the name certainly fits the current mood out there, don't you think? All too well, I'd say.

Here's a look at some of the seminars in the offing:

The Exorcist Exposed: We'll take a hard look at the very creepy subtexts and disturbing manipulations behind this horror classic. You'll never watch this film the same way again, I guarantee you.

We'll take an even harder look at The Exorcist's author, his spooky CV and his other works, including The Ninth Configuration and Exorcist III

Heaven Upside Down or Las Vegas: A deep dive into the incredible strangeness - and yes, ritualism - of an event that has been purposefully and clumsily flushed down the memory hole. We'll look at the most recent "revelations" - or should I say disinformations - and much, much more besides.

The New Folk Horror: A rollicking overview of Hereditary, The VVitch and Midsommar, with some surprises thrown in. Were these films just a blip on the cultural radar, or a harbinger of something bigger to come?

The Secret History of Ancient Astronaut Theory: AAT didn't start with Morning of the Magicians, it didn't start with Lovecraft, it didn't even start with Blavatsky. It's much, much older than them all.

How much older? Join us and see for yourself.

Alan Moore's Lovecraft Mythos: A two-part (or maybe three-part) deep dive into the Necromancer of Northampton's magnum opus. The Courtyard, Neonomicon and Providence all go under the microscope.

What we find may be more unsettling than any work of fiction.

True Detective, Season One: Sensing a pattern? We'll dive into the first and best season of True Detective and look at the occult weirdness flowing through its veins. A must-see.

Oh, That's Just Wrong: An expose of some of the extremely creepy content of Eighties flicks, particularly of Eighties kid flicks. Not for the weak of heart (or stomach).

The Shimmer for Beginners: A look at the Secret History of the Shimmer, from "The Colour Out of Space," to Stalker -  and especially - to Annihilation.

Deep State Dysclosure: A deeply-skeptical analysis of the ongoing "UFO Okey-Dokey," as Dave Emory once famously called it. All the usual suspects will be roasted.

Hopefully it will be enough to keep Tom DeLonge locked in a recording studio 'til Kingdom come.

How can you join in on these deep dives? Why, just click on that big, bright moon down there...

For as little as three dollars a month you can dive into the most immersive and elaborate database of Synchromysticism and esoteric entertainment analyses anywhere in the world.
The SSI has been going full-blast for nearly four years now and shows no signs of slowing down. So why don't you come join the other seekers and researchers - your people - waiting for you to take on the deepest dives.

I promise that you'll come for the scholarship and stay for the fellowship.
