The Royal Scam: Fire on Babylon

OK, this is going to be some hit and run Synchromysticism. There's a lot to sort through and I don't have a lot of time so let's do this. Feel free to expand and expound in the comments section. I'll try to revisit this story if I can spare a few.

But yeah, this thing just keeps on shootin' out the synchery, so much so that I wonder what we're really seeing here. I get the feeling it's going somewhere weird and dark.

The Holy Fool

The jingling of bells during the dance is meant to frighten evil spirits and the clashing of sticks represent the fight between good and evil.

Graphic Depictions

Ever since I started this blog, I knew I didn't want to spend the rest of my life doing someone else's laundry. I came into this having published a couple comics series (unfortunately during the bleakest years of the downturn) and having serious interest in a couple screenplays I worked on (one of which was apparently of very serious interest to certain parties, as longtime readers will remember).

These Are Gnostic Times

It's been nearly a year since I've posted here, having been overwhelmed by the two irreducible realities in my life: work and chronic pain.

Many a plan and project has been sacrificed on the altar to these unrelenting gods. I've lost count of the times I've gotten started on a project only to have to back burner it when the need to pay the bills rears its head.

Secret Star Trek: The Unknown Nine

In part one of this series, we looked at a strange clue embedded in the now-obligatory ancient astronaut/cargo cult sequence in Star Trek into Darkness, a clue that led back to one of the lesser entries in the franchise's nearly 50 year history, that being the ninth feature film.

That film takes place on a planet nearly identical to the legendary New Age resort in California, Esalen.

Burn it Down and Start from Scratch

My recent posting on the alchemical symbolism of The Fifth Element was anything but arbitrary. Alchemy -
the symbolism and psychology of which, rather - has intruded into my life in fascinating ways recently.

Shekinah Rising: The Missile Defense Logo "Controversy"

By now you've seen the news stories over the controversy over the Missile Defense Agency logo. The issue seems to be over its alleged use of the crescent and star of Islam, which neocons see as some kind of symbolic surrender to Sharia law (or something to that effect).

Atum Kadmon & The 40 Year-Old Virgin: Aquarian

The 40 Year-Old Virgin deals with Andy Stitzer, a sad sack stock room employee for a big box electronics store called Smart Tech. After his friends- Jay, Dave and Cal- discover Andy is a virgin during a poker game, they take it upon themselves to get him deflowered.

NineElevenTenThirteen

There are times when art becomes reality. The pilot for X-Files spinoff The Lone Gunmen, which eerily predicted a 9/11 scenario, is perhaps one of the most notorious examples of this.
