Well, weirdo Indie artists like Grimes are one thing, but what do you do when one of the biggest superstars in the entire world makes a video bursting at the seams with all these crazy Emergent Archetypal Dominants® I've been bashing my head bloody for the better part of two years trying to open people's eyes to?

Stairway to Kevin

The other big story this week was this weird viral video posted by Kevin Spacey. Portraying his character from House of Cards, Spacey is either letting us know he's lost his last remaining marbles or he's issuing a coded threat to his fellow BLs in Tinseltown. A threat stating, "If I go down, I'm taking all of you with me."

I Don't Belong Here (and Neither Do You)

A movie I think Secret Sun readers need to watch recently popped up on Amazon Prime. So to mark the occasion, I've revised a review I did on the film upon its release and expanded it to fold in some related films and topics.

Annihilation Reality: Pray for Us Shimmers

Well, we're coming up on awards season. As of yet, I haven't seen the chilling docudrama Annihilation nominated for any major awards. Maybe it shouldn't have been so closely associated with Netflix or maybe it should have just dropped the "dramatization" bit and done a straight documentary. 

Or maybe gone a little lighter on the dubsteb sound effects, I don't know.

PseudoScience Friday: Maybe Tomorrow, Maybe Someday

Well, the P.T. Barnum Memorial Permanent Moon Base Roadshow pulled into town again and performed its song and dance for bored reporters. I'm not sure why this old saw was pulled out of the toolbox but it seems to me this act plays to smaller crowds every time it takes the stage.

Guess it's true. You can't fool all of the people all of the time.

Shimmer Me Timbers: Annihilation Reconsidered

Well, in the grand Secret Sun tradition I am finally getting around to posting my thoughts on Annihilation, the recent(ish) sci-fi film starring Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Tessa Thompson. 

The TL;DR? I liked the film quite a bit. But I probably would have liked it quite a bit more if it were fiction.

NXIVM: Buckle Up and Enjoy the Ride.

So this NXIVM sex cult story just keeps getting uglier and weirder. Allison Mack, the co-star of the long-running Smallville TV series has been thrown to the wolves and is reportedly angling for a plea deal.

And yes, I realize this is all completely nuts. It's absolutely insane. No question. But did I mention it's 2017?
