My original plan was to simply "teach the controversy," as it were. By that, I mean explore all the different theories about the film, and try to ascertain their credibility on a case by case basis.

But then I suddenly realized what this dream of a film was actually about, and who exactly was dreaming it, and I'm still scraping pieces of my brain off the ceiling. I mean, it was a bolt from the blue.

And it call all be summed up in a single word.

Now, I finally understand why Kubrick was so obsessed for so long with making this picture.
