Weekend Matinee: Isis Unveiled

As a Neo-Jungian auto-didact nutcase, I'm obsessed with the concept of resonance. We're subjected to thousands of ideas and concepts every day, most of which are instantaneously flushed from our consciousness.

CERN Watch: India, Rising

The Indian Government presented the
CERN with this state of Lord Shiva

India may well turn out to be the major technological superpower of the coming century. Their schools are turning out engineers at a rate that dwarfs US and Europe combined. They've launched their own space program and recently landed a probe on the Moon.

Stairway to Sirius: Davos Gets Sirius

Some puns never get old: This little news item came and went on the BBC front page within the space of a couple of hours early this morning:
The party is over. Well, at least it has been toned down. Once criticised as a glitzy event and schmoozefest for the very rich and powerful, the World Economic Forum is getting all serious.
Are they ever. The Beeb headline link had said "Davos Gets Serious." This image also came and went on the front page of the Davos website, just around the same time.

Double-click on the image to get a better look at the binary, large/small star motif imposed on the Davos banner.

Seriously.

Barack Obama and the Green Sun

From the CNN.com front page, on Obama's first week in office. Thanks to an anonymous reader for the heads-up. For deep background on the Green Sun, click here.

Another interesting shot, from the reliably-cryptic Huffington Post.

Seen From Space: Planet 51

Thanksgiving? Pretty long lead time, especially given all of the scenes in the trailer. A couple of the shots here remind me of the Dubai development video we saw a couple months back, with all of the satellite shots and sacred geometry.

AstroGnostic: Witch Mountain and King Scorpion

Those dogs look like a major issue

Escape to Witch Mountain is one of the touchstones from my childhood. Though hopelessly dated and unbearably cheesy today, it introduced a generation of miserable latchkey kids in the 70s to a whole host of esoteric concepts- telekinesis, UFOology, Sirius symbolism (the alien kids in the film hail from a binary star system) and the very Gnostic idea that we are higher beings trapped in a fallen world.*

The Deep Semiotics of Flight 1549: Addendum

I mentioned the correlation between the splashdown location of Flight 1549 and the parallel spot where Ben "Star" Gates jumps from the observation deck of the USS Intrepid into the Hudson in the Masonic recuitment film, National Treasure

Before we put the story to rest, I thought some visual aids might help drive the point home.

Barack Obama and the Masonic Martyr, Part 2

In the first part of this series, we looked at the chain of bizarre coincidences connecting President Obama to the martyred Masonic astronaut Gus Grissom, who was killed in 1967 in an explosion many people do not believe was an accident.†

A Very Sirius Presidency: The "Do-Over"

Oh, my, the hits just keep on coming. Chief Justice Roberts "flubbed" his lines at the Inauguration, causing President Obama to also "flub" his lines. This necessitated a "do-over" in the White House Map Room, under the watchful eye of Benjamin LaTrobe.

Barack Obama and the Masonic Martyr

If I had to guess, I would say that Barack Obama is a Freemason, possibly of the Order of Prince Hall, or more likely, in one of the many clandestine or affiliated Masonic orders. We have no documentation on that as yet, but it is certainly interesting that the Freemasons are holding their first-ever (public) inaugural ball in his honor.

The Deep Semiotics of Flight 1549

As far as I can see, there's no reason not to take the USAir water-landing story at face value. This image is certainly laden with semiotic power, however.

Transformers: Revenge of the Nephilim

I don't know much about The Transformers, but it seems the new film is going to head into familiar territory.

"A Telescope the Size of Earth"

A. Magnius Publius points us to the 17/33 synchs of this article:

The nearly continuous 33-hour observation will be conducted on Jan 15-16 as part of a demonstration at the opening event for the International Year of Astronomy 2009 (IYA 2009) in Paris.

The Day the Earth Stood Still, or The Tedium of Propaganda

"Wounded Eye of Horus" in promo poster outside theater
and the dumbest tagline ever.

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS

Well, me and the missus and I trekked up to the frozen gateway of the New Jersey Skylands to see The Day the Earth Stood Still (finally).

We caught a matinee while I was catching a breather from work. If you want to know why I don't write much about all of the latest movies, maybe the fact that it cost 17 bucks for two tickets to a matinee showing of a month-old movie will explain that.

There Will Always Be an England

Ben Fairhall has been following the strange goings-on and wildly-conflicting cover stories dealing with the smashed turbine in Lincolnshire. Whatever happened there is open to debate, but the goon squad has been called in nonetheless.

The (Star) Gates of Heaven

If you're going to be in Paris anytime between the beginning of March and the end of June, you may want to check the "Gates of Heaven" exhibition out at the Louvre:

The Great Goddess and the Golden Globes

Tonight we have the poor man's Oscars, the 66th Annual Golden Globes. Fascinating art in light of recent events: an uber-phallic illuminated obelisk flanked by a gauntlet of Phoenix palm trees.

Yahooccultism: The Magic of the Moon

Wow, quite a nice collection of psychic triggers there, ending with the martyr of last year's big terror-trauma ritual drama. The headline above it is kind of interesting, no?

Sirius Star: Pirate Fighters or Welcome Wagon?

Well, you knew this was coming. We're now going to have an international phalanx of warships in the Gulf of Aden and presumably, the Red Sea and Indian Ocean.

A Very Sirius Presidency: China Syndrome

Well, those of you worried about the economy, have no fear: the White House still has half a million dollars to spend on place settings.

Stargates in the Snow

Here's a big story coming out of China:
A Disneyland made entirely of ice and snow has been built in China's freezing northern city of Harbin as part of the city's Ice Festival.

Local authorities hope the park, featuring Disney characters and rides made of ice, will help attract around 800,000 tourists.

The Age of Horus: Hancock, Part 2

Both of Horus' eyes were torn out during a battle with Set

In the first installment of this series we established that Hancock is the literal Horus, now slumming as a superhero. This is entirely consistent with the mythological symbolism, and indeed the word "hero" is derived from "Heru." But are there are other, deeper layers taken from the constellation of Horus symbology encoded into this film?

The Alien Gnosis of Race to Witch Mountain

Note sunrise and Heavenly Beam

Abstract: Is Witch Mountain simply mindless entertainment or a subversive Astro-Gnostic parable pointing us to deeper truths about our own origins?

In our last installment we looked at the new Witch Mountain film (premiering 3/13/09), which semiotically places "Horus Scorpion" in the role of the alien children's protector. The children are named Sara and Seth, strangely enough, seeing that Seth is a variant spelling of Set, Horus' uncle and rival.

Atalante Rising

Sometimes you have to wonder if news items aren't sometimes made up of whole cloth and planted in the media to follow some weird ritual cycle, unknown to the general reading public.

This is one of those stories that seems more Morals & Dogma than Christian Science Monitor...

The Killing Joke of The Dark Knight

"The Killing Joke was the (comic) that was handed to me.
I think it’s going to be the beginning of The Joker." - Heath Ledger

Even if it ended with a resounding thud in the form of Frank Miller's adaptation of The Spirit, 2008 was quite a banner year for comic book movies; Iron Man ($330M), The Incredible Hulk ($134M) and The Dark Knight ($530M) all cleaned up at the box office, and superhero/related flicks Wanted ($134M), Bolt ($103M) and Hancock ($227M) were major hits as well.

The New Pyramid Power: Addendum

PYONGYANG: North Korea's phantom hotel is stirring back to life. Once dubbed by Esquire magazine as "the worst building in the history of mankind," the 105-storey Ryugyong Hotel is back under construction after a 16-year lull in the capital of one of the world's most reclusive and destitute countries.

According to foreign residents in Pyongyang, Egypt's Orascom group has recently begun refurbishing the top floors of the three-sided pyramid-shaped hotel whose 330-metre (1,083 ft) frame dominates the Pyongyang skyline.- Canada.com
