Beauty and the Beast (of Revelation), Part 1

Ruby Stars and Ruddy Cups....

Well, it's nearly 6 AM and I've been up all night poring over this material. And I have to say it's taken me in a direction I was not expecting. I really am beginning to wonder if we actually are all video game characters in some large-scale version of The Nines, because I feel as if this entire narrative was written long in advance of me stumbling onto it.

Other than the ways you might think, in light of the subject matter.

17 Days in Vancouver (UPDATES)

Well, I watched as much as I could take of the opening ceremonies of the Olympics and DVR'd the rest. I realize all of the symbolism comes from indigenous cultures, but these four statues seemed a bit more canopic to me, like the four sons of Horus, or the four funerary goddesses. Maybe a little of both. At the same time. Canada is very liberal about that kind of thing. Of course, those hats seemed a bit more on the Sumerian side to me (NOTE: A reader informs us that these figures are called the 'Watchmen', which is perfect in so many ways).

And that sunwheel design on the floor doesn't mitigate the effect.

And Ursa Major made an appearance. Being the nutty guy I am, I thought back to the Sirius Election series and this Egyptian prayer:
“The sky is clear, Sothis (Sirius) lives, I am a living one, the son of Sothis (Sirius), and the two Enneads have cleansed themselves for me in Ursa Major, the Imperishable. My house in the sky will not perish, my throne on earth will not be destroyed, for men hide, the gods fly away. Sothis has caused me to fly up to the sky in the company of my Brethren…”
Utterance 302 of the Pyramid Texts

Did someone say fly? Now, I won't say this is yet another UFO reference, but boy, they sure love their flying boats at the Olympics, don't they?

Are those ears, horns or antennae? Of course, compared to the 1984 ceremony, this is weak tea. Everything is. But it did occur to me that the first time I wrote about the UFOlympic issue, I wrote about the release of 2010: The Year We Make Contact. Don't forget about the recent festivities in Beijing, either.

Or this beauty shot from the Sydney festivities. I still think they should come clean and play "Pets" at the closing ceremonies.

And you'll have to forgive me...

...but I couldn't resist.

Banging on the octagonal Stargate...

Speaking of flight, here's Nelly (Nellis?) Furtado, Our Lady of the Stars. Appropriately enough, since Nelly's label is called Nelstar. She's appeared on a CSI (Grissom Scene Investigation) series just to put the cherry on this particular sundae. And weren't we just talking about a blue dress? Maybe she's a fan of the Secret Sun too!

Really playing up the starry sky motif last night. And there's your "power of three."

So we have the enclosed alien habitat dome, where's the rocket pad obelisk?

Ahh, there we go.

A city in the sky- do you think this was inspired by the old Who song?

Don't forget about my undying love for Vancouver, the Holy Land of sci-fi TV.

PS: Just for the record, I DON'T believe in the power that comes from a world brought together as one, Nikki. No offense.

UPDATE: Hmmm, I wonder...

UPDATE: That Jungian demon-shadow projection also reminds me of this pivotal scene from Quatermass and the Pit. Note also that the character of Roney was Canadian in the original TV production. And when I see a fiddlin' devil, I can't help but think of the old Charlie Daniels hit "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."

Drunk on the Blood of the Saints

Well, quite an eventful month so far. Yeah.

Especially in the context of signs, wonders and portents. As well as things in the Heavens finding mirrors here on Earth.

A Very Sirius Election: Stairway to Sirius

Note: There's much more on the Stairway to Sirius and a Very Sirius Election

In the first installment of this series, we looked at the incorporation of elements of the hieroglyph for Sirius in the McCain/Obama campaign logos. Next we looked at what certainly appears to be a move to symbolically tie Sarah Palin to Isis and Sirius, starting with her speech at the RNC.

What we must remember is that the very term "president" comes from ancient ritual, as does his "inauguration." The term "capitol" (as in "our nation's capitol") comes from a hill in Rome that housed the city's most magnificent temple to Jupiter. And the Masonic roots of the Federal Government and Washington, DC and all of the rest of it are more or less common knowledge these days, thanks to The Da Vinci Code and the National Treasure movies and all the rest of it. So none of this symbolism should surprise us at all, particularly at this stage in the game.

So, let's review:
So we see the pyramidion and five pointed star in the McCain/Palin logo and the sunrise used in the Obama logo. The Masonic point-in-circle is incorporated into the Obama logo, as well as three red stripes. Do they have a meaning in the context of the Sirius symbolism we've been looking at here? A little context first...

ALL IS QUIET

9/11 is the definitive event of the 21st Century- it informs our politics and culture in ways not immediately obvious. Tough-skinned New Yorkers have largely put the trauma behind them, but tens of millions of superstitious bumpkins are still terrified that Osama is hiding in their manure pile and is going to fly a spray plane into the local Agway.

Be that as it may, both John "Oannes" McCain and Barack "Blessed" Obama were at Ground Zero for the seventh anniversary of that horrible day. Here they tossed roses- an ancient fertility symbol- into a reflecting pool, a symbol of the womb. Remember also that September 11 is New Year's Day in the Coptic (that is to say, native Egyptian) calendar, and that technically 2001 was the first year of the new millennium.

The symbolism here has an ancient precedent. Following a traumatic period in Egypt's history, the Pharaoh Djoser was quoted as saying:
"I will cause the Nile (River) to rise up for you. There will be no more years when the inundation fails to cover any area of land. The flowers will sprout up, their stems bending with the weight of the pollen."
The symbolism of Djoser's words and this Ground Zero ritual are particularly significant in this instance, seeing that the Obama family hails from Kenya, which is bordered by Lake Victoria -- the source of the Nile River. Remember that the Nile was seen as an earthly reflection of the Milky Way. Was this ritual meant as a precursor to some cosmic event?

But there is something about where this ritual was performed that also ties back to Djoser.

Here is Ground Zero today. Immediately west is the World Financial Center, which now overshadows the WTC site where McCain and Obama performed their obligatory fertility ritual. Note here that these buildings lie directly on the banks of a river.

The World Financial Center is composed of four separate buildings, distinguished by the designs on their roofs. We have a pyramid, a step pyramid, a dome and an "unfinished pyramid."

If seen from the east, the building containing the step pyramid is hidden. If we mirror the glyph for Sirius-Sothis we see that the three taller buildings of the WFC correspond to it- the building with the pyramid corresponds to the pyramidion, next to that we see the domed roof , and the unfinished pyramid has 5 sides, corresponding to the 5-rayed star of Sirius.

So we have correspondence with three of the WFC buildings and the Sirius/Sothis glyph. So what of the step pyramid roof, then? And what do pyramids actually symbolize, anyway?

WHAT PYRAMIDS ACTUALLY SYMBOLIZE

Here's where we refer back to Djoser, since his famous pyramid is built in that step/stairway design. Djoser's pyramid is important since it is believed to be the first of Egypt's great pyramids, and unlike the main structures at Giza is well-adorned with sacred writing.

More importantly, even orthodox Egyptologists now agree that pyramids were built as "Stairways to Heaven":
The pyramids of Egypt could be explained as symbolic stairways to the stars, according to a British scientist. And - in a twist that will delight New Age believers in mysterious energies and alien spacecraft - the inspiration for the pyramids might indeed have arrived from outer space, in the form of a meteorite.

Toby Wilkinson, an Egyptologist based at Cambridge University, told a conference over the weekend that some of his theory was "deliberately controversial, provocative, but tantalising".

He argued, from evidence of the orientation of the pyramids - always to the northern pole star - and from the names given to estates to finance funerary cults, and the shape of the pyramids themselves, that they could be seen as launch pads for the pharaoh's journey to the afterlife among the stars.

So after the Twin Towers (widely believed to have been symbolic stand-ins for Jachin and Boaz) came down, what was left standing was the World Financial Center, which no one ever noticed when the WTC still stood.

And encoded into the WFC is
a Stairway to Sirius, the star system significant to Egyptian religion and the occult traditions and Masonic traditions and Ancient Astronaut Theory.

So, as the later Solomonic tradition vanishes from the skyline, it reveals the Stairway to Sirius, almost as if we traveling back in time using architectural symbolism. Which, of course, was the exact modus operandi of the Shemsu Hor.

But where else do we find this Stairway to Sirius?

Gee, you think there's an AAT basis to Freemasonry or what?

We find it here, in a Masonic tracing board. We see the Sun and the Moon, and the "Blazing Star" of Sirius, to which a stairway is attached. And just as the World Financial Center, we see three columns adjacent to the stairway. And none other than Albert Pike tells us of Sirius' importance to Freemasonry:
Sirius still glitters in our Lodges as the Blazing Star, The Sun is still symbolized by the point within a Circle; and, with the Moon and Mercury or Anubis, in the three Great Lights of the Lodge.

- Albert Pike, Morals & Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry
But if the icon of the Stairway is so important in this story, where do we see in it this meta-narrative encoded in the campaign logos of this year's Clown Show?

Let's take another look at those enigmatic stripes in the Obama logo...

If you look at the red stripes as being the treads, it very much looks like a stairway. And it leads to a rising sun. But which sun is this?

The more I look at all of this symbolism, the more I believe the sun being venerated is not our egalitarian Sol. Perhaps the point-in-circle motif offers us a clue. Perhaps that actually symbolizes two suns, with one hidden within or behind the other. Which solar system would that describe?

It describes Sirius.

The system of Sirius contains two known stars, the first binary star system discovered. The larger and brighter of the two, Sirius A, is three times the mass of our sun, and over ten times as bright. Shining with a brilliant blue-white radiance, Sirius A easily overshadows her darker companion star. Sirius B is a "white dwarf" star, invisible to the naked eye and packing the equivalent mass of our sun into an incredibly dense globe only 4 times the diameter of our Earth.- Sirius Rising
The symbolic correspondence between Sirius, the WFC and Obama/McCain campaign logos certainly raises the question: were McCain and Obama paying tribute to Ground Zero or the Stairway to Sirius? And were they doing so consciously?

PROSTHETIC DIVINITY

John McCain doesn't have Obama's familial link to Sirius and the Nile, but perhaps his symbolic link comes by way of adoption.

Here's a passage from the Pyramid Texts, ripe to bursting with some truly remarkable imagery of space-travelling gods:
“The sky is clear, Sothis (Sirius) lives, I am a living one, the son of Sothis (Sirius), and the two Enneads have cleansed themselves for me in Ursa Major, the Imperishable. My house in the sky will not perish, my throne on earth will not be destroyed, for men hide, the gods fly away. Sothis has caused me to fly up to the sky in the company of my Brethren…”
Utterance 302 of the Pyramid Texts
Ursa Major? Where does that come in? Well, it comes into McCain's symbolic portfolio by way of the flag of Alaska, the state of which his running mate Saraswati Palin is governor.

And Palin further linked herself to Sirius with her dog joke at the convention, but it doesn't end there.
As Saraswati Palin (freshly impregnated with semiotic signifiers by the media) addressed the convention audience, which sun was she symbolically giving birth to? Was it the Sun of the covertly re-paganizing Evangelicals? Or was it another sun, perhaps one summoned by the blatant point-in-circle imagery we see represented by the ferris wheel on the right?

Now, don't get me wrong, I doubt that McCain or Obama or Palin are even remotely conscious of any of this. And I understand that all of this sounds like madness if you are unfamiliar with the long history of this symbology. But it appears that someone has been going through an awful lot of trouble to tie this election to the ancient mythological symbolism of Sirius (think McCain with his enigmatic green backgrounds, as well).

But the question remains- Why?

Why go to all of this trouble, over a period of thousands of years, to try to get the attention of these unseen space gods? From Heliopolis to Hollywood and every stop in between, there is an elaborate, secret language at work that is consistent, coherent and predictive.

Why?

What is so compelling about all of this symbolism which always seems to point somewhere out in the cosmos, even in the ostensibly exoteric religions? What is the ultimate goal to this symbolic conversation, to which you and I seem to be passive observers?

This is not just a bunch of crusty old coots in aprons having a laugh, believe you me.

Stay tuned...

Astronaut Theology: The Star-Sailor

The ancient historian Plutarch tells us "That when Osiris reigned over the Egyptians he made them reform their destitute and bestial mode of living, showing them the art of cultivation, and giving them laws, and teaching them how to worship the gods." OK, that's a fairly standard story across the ancient world, particularly in these high civiliations.

We also know from the old myths that upon his second death, Osiris "was translated to the nether regions where he reigned as 'Lord of the Underworld and Ruler of the Dead.' Here he presided at the bar of judgment and assigned to the souls of the departed their proper reward for virtue or punishment for sin."

Again, not unusual in the context of ancient mythology.

But I do have one problem with all of this. If Osiris is consigned to the Underworld...

...why do we always see him sailing around the stars in his flying boat?

I realize that this was an ancient civilization with a whole host of cults with different cosmologies. And I do realize that this was all very symbolic and mystical (where AMA- 'anything means anything') but there seems to be a basic contradiction here that I can't wrap my head around.

This isn't just a question of some outlier cult with their own mythos, this cuts to the core of what (we think) we know about this enigmatic belief system. Particularly this idea that the Pharaohs became Osiris and death and went to join with him in outer space. There's a distinct whiff of cargo cultism about all of that- a secret that was lost and attempted to be retraced.

This also ties directly in the theology of the Great Pyramid, inarguably the most compelling architectural work in human history. We know now about the alignments of the shafts from the so-called King and Queen's chambers.

Orion and Sirius are the best known, but there are also the Ursa constellations, one of which is embedded into the state flag of Alaska. How fascinating that we saw not only Sirius symbolism during the last Clownshow Presidential election, but also Ursa Major personified by former Gov. Sarah Palin. What are the odds?

You gotta love these coincidences...crazy stuff.
But not only do we see these depictions of Osiris shooting around the stars, we often see him showing the other gods the way to something or other. Now I know there is this elaborate cosmology surrounding all of this, but ask yourself- what if all of that was added on later?

And then there are images like this, with Osiris and Horus in their flying disk, and Isis leading them to the stars. Again, maybe there's some elaborate mystical code for all of this, but the way I see it, the image itself is much more compelling and powerful if taken at face value. But that's just me, that's just something I enjoy.

But there's also the fact that Osiris was adopted by other cultures and often depicted as a man piloting a flying disk. Again, is there some mystical interpretation to be drawn here? Maybe. But which interpretation do you think would be more impressive to an ancient race- the mystical or the literal? What do you think would inspire a greater sense of awe and amazement in the ancients- the distant, nearly invisible movements of the heavenly bodies, or bunch of guys scooting around above their heads in a flying disk?

I'm pretty sure I know what would impress me.

Things can get a bit anomalous in this light- here's Osiris in a ressurection chamber being, uh, resurrected. Note the coiled snake at his feet. For some reason, I can't help but think of that snake in the Denderah lightbulb/not-lightbulb.

I also can't help but think that maybe no one wants to consider the possibility that this extraordinary civilization could have worked out the science for a simple electric light fixture on its own. Why? Because that might lead people to begin to question what other secrets we haven't been told. Maybe if you pull on that one thread the whole tapestry will come apart.

Being a lifetime geek, I can't help but look at that Osiris image and think back to the thousands of comics and sci-fi book covers with the exact same motif- a resurrection chamber, powered by some exotic form of energy, bringing the dead back to life.

Stargate fans will remember just such a device in the original theatrical film. How interesting then that the Air Force was so interested in "helping out" on the Stargate TV series.

Then there are images like these, which show some strange kind of energy transfer from the body of Osiris into the enigmatic, undefined Djed pillar. We saw the pillar (or a version of it- the term Djed is nebulous in the extreme) supporting the weight of the Denderah lightbulb/not-lightbulb, and here we see this transfer of solar and stellar energy into what looks more like some kind of a protective suit than some nebulous mystical abstraction.

Again, another icon well-familiar to hardcore geeks such as myself. Here's an image from Jack Kirby's prophetic OMAC: One Man Army Corps, showing a similar kind of energy transfer into his new form.

Humor me, just for a second: what if the original revelation behind all of these star-sailor images was lost? What if this ingenious culture compensated for that loss by embroidering this complex and fascinating mythology around it?

This is not a moot point by any stretch of the imagination. Why? Well, consider the hundreds of billions being funneled into the various space programs- both public and otherwise - during this excruciating worldwide recession. We've come to take it all for granted, but 'space stories' are no longer just a back-page footnote- they're front page news, every day now. There's more going on up there than at any time I can remember.

Then think back on all of the stories we've looked at here that link ancient Egypt and space colonization- the new OSIRIS-REX rocket is only the most recent (and egregious) of this constant association. Don't fool yourself- the people in charge of these programs are not flakes. They're as serious as a heart attack.

So why does any of this matter? It matters because it obviously matters to people making decisions that affect all of our lives.

Apocalypse This Week: Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment

OK, so much entrainment, so little time. I'm a bit harried at the moment --and there is so much going on all around us and so much being dumped on our heads -- that it's all rather overwhelming.

So let's dive in and I'll let all you very smart folks pick up the slack in the comments.

"The Great Siren That Sitteth Upon Many Waters..."

Mermaid Mania shows now sign of stopping but leave it to Richard Branson to take it all to the next level.

I mean, what's a manufactured Apocalypse without a Scarlet Woman, right?

Shimmer Me Timbers, or Annihilation Reconsidered

Well, in the grand Secret Sun tradition I am finally getting around to posting my thoughts on Annihilation, the recent(ish) sci-fi film starring Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Tessa Thompson.

The TL;DR? I liked the film quite a bit. But I probably would have liked it quite a bit more if it were fiction.

Snapshots from the Apocalypse: Transgenics are Go!

There are a number of emerging themes and a new palette of symbols coming out of the Great Unveiling, which is now well underway. Chief among them are transgenics, smart cities and the Automation Apocalypse. We're getting hammered with these themes in the news lately, all part of a conditioning program in its late stages.

Astronomy Domine: The Revelation Star Map

OK, we have a whole lot of information to sift through and the connections here might take a lot of time to soak in.  So let's get this thing going...

SECRET SUN READING LIST
