Sync or Swim: An Apollonian Spirit Rising

"Above anything else (Apollo) was a god of oracles and prophecy - and the oracles he gave out were riddles, full of ambiguities and traps.
"It was the people who believed everything was bright and clear who ended up in trouble."

NOTE: Endless gratitude and kudos to Secret Spies Brizdazody and RanDeLody for pitching in with some hot tips.

"Often (Apollo is) associated with bright music and song. And yet, especially in Anatolia, he had a very different side. There songs were sung in his honour that were full of strange words, sung in an incantatory language no one could understand.

And his oracles were spoken by his prophet in a voice heavy with trance: oracles full of repetitions and riddles, expressed in a poetry that at times hardly seemed poetry at all."

"For Apollo was a god who operated on another level of consciousness with rules and a logic of its own." -- Peter Kingsley

Literally, The Temple to the Apollo Twins.

Note: I haven't been able to nail down the exact time this video was shot --other than in the morning-- but given Tracey Thorn tweeted at 11 AM PST it's possible that this was all going down concurrently with the Sibyl's oration. The cloudy skies make it so we can't judge the time by the Sun's position.

  2. If the sum total of the works of Elisabeth Fraser, and their correspondences, are considered as a single whole - Liber Strawberry, The Book of Fraser (whatever term her lead scryer deems).... What is it? Prophecy, sure.

Ever consider the prophecies as personal metaphor?

What if she's delivered a map. A map of specific territory that may rival the mystery schools.

  3. "During his absence the tradition is that Typhon attempted nothing revolutionary because Isis, who was in control, was vigilant and alert; but when he returned home Typhon contrived a treacherous plot against him and formed a group of conspirators seventy-two in number. He had also the co-operation of a queen from Ethiopia71 who was there at the time and whose name they report as Aso. Typhon, having secretly measured Osiris's body Cand having made ready a beautiful chest of corresponding size artistically ornamented, caused it to be brought into the room where the festivity was in progress. The company was much pleased at the sight of it and admired it greatly, whereupon Typhon jestingly promised to present it to the man who should find the chest to be exactly his length when he lay down in it. They all tried it in turn, but no one fitted it; then Osiris got into it and p37 lay down, and those who were in the plot ran to it and slammed down the lid, which they fastened by nails from the outside and also by using molten lead. Then they carried the chest to the river and sent it on its way to the sea through the Tanitic Mouth. Wherefore the Egyptians even to this day name this mouth the hateful and execrable. Such is the tradition. They say also that the date on which this deed was done was the seventeenth day of Athyr,72 when the sun passes through Scorpion, Dand in the twenty-eighth year of the reign of Osiris; but some say that these are the years of his life and not of his reign.73"
14 1 The first to learn of the deed and to bring to men's knowledge an account of what had been done were the Pans and Satyrs who lived in the region around Chemmis,74 and so, even to this day, the sudden confusion and consternation of a crowd is called a panic.75 Isis, when the tidings reached her, at once cut off one of her tresses and put on a garment of mourning in a place where the city still bears the name of Kopto.76 Others think that the name means deprivation, Efor they also express "deprive" by means of "koptein."77 But Isis wandered everywhere at her wits' end; no one whom she approached did she fail to address, and even when she met some little children she asked them about the chest. As it p39 happened, they had seen it, and they told her the mouth of the river through which the friends of Typhon had launched the coffin into the sea. Wherefore the Egyptians think that little children possess the power of prophecy,78 and they try to divine the future from the portents which they find in children's words, especially when children are playing about in holy places and crying out whatever chances to come into their minds.

They relate also that Isis, learning that Osiris in his love had consorted with her sister79 through ignorance, in the belief that she was Isis, Fand seeing the proof of this in the garland of melilote which he had left with Nephthys, sought to find the child; for the mother, immediately after its birth, had exposed it because of her fear of Typhon. And when the child had been found, after great toil and trouble, with the help of dogs which led Isis to it, it was brought up and became her guardian and attendant, receiving the name of Anubis, and it is said to protect the gods just as dogs protect men.80

    2. (I've been a regular reader for years now and haven't commented; every time I attempt to comment it turns into a novel and I chicken out. Let me first say hi Chris! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication in compiling all of this Whatever This Is, The Story That Never Ends, and I hope you have some inkling of how powerfully enlightening, informative, and comforting your documenting has been for many of your readers. As a lot of readers have said, I come here to feel less crazy. Even though much of it is maddeningly beyond me still, it helps me put together some pieces of my own personal puzzle.

Anyway, I'm commenting to report that I looked up the movie Deliverance yesterday in an unrelated conversation and thought of it throughout the day on a long drive through rural Alabama.

I've had countless small synchs like that through my years of reading. I also have my own rather intricately woven personal synch Story That Never Ends which was told (shown) to me in the second full-blown psychosis I went into last July. I won't go into boring detail, but it was full of gods and myth and symbol, and I've found that many key pieces relate to all of this Whatever This Is, and often tidy them together in neat bows.

I turned 33 in October, on the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima, then blacked out and crashed my car the following week, and it's just gotten increasingly weirder since.

Just figured I ought to report my findings and give thanks. :)

  4. My new yellow lab pup is named Dylan (“son of the sea” - amongst other meanings - he’s a water dog). His mother is Tikka, owned by 18 year old Hunter, who keeps her as a bird hunting dog. She is named after the Finnish rifle company. On 8/26 we had arranged a visit for Dylan with his mom. That happened to be the date of the full moon. Artemis/Diana is the virgin goddess of the moon, animals, and the hunt.

So don’t tell me about personal syncs going mythic, it’s happening in realtime. And you know, it’s so precise. Like today I was checking out the local Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival and I was admiring the yawl ORION. He’s the hunter. But on his deck was the most beautiful young woman I’ve ever seen in PT. Granted, we are usually full of of dowagers and comfortably fed women in pink kitty hats, but she was amazing, and of course, a young man was hitting on her from the dock. That swung the sync back to Diana, the huntress.

It is curious that Princess Diana’s death was 8/31. Apollo mourns his twin sister by causing sync in the sensitive.

William Bligh was the first recorded European to visit Tematagi atoll in 1792, a few years after Bligh survived the infamous "Mutiny on the Bounty," led by mutineer Fletcher Christian, who fled to - and successfully hid - on Pitcairn Island. Later, Bligh would be governor of New South Wales in Australia, but by 1808, everyone had had enough of Bligh's acerbic behavior and this led to the "Rum Rebellion," Australia's only-recorded armed takeover of Australian government. Speaking of which, the just ousted Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has a middle name - "Bligh." He is a descendent of William Bligh Turnbull, a man whose parents admired William Bligh for his interest in the plight of those not of the elite class.

Although thrill seeking degenerates will no doubt continue go on and on about the "good weather" and their tans. Sun Ra used to say something like that white people love the sun but the sun doesn't love them back. Otherwise it wouldn't burn their skin and give them cancer. Did you know that it is supposed to rain diamonds on Saturn? The song goes that diamonds are a girls best friend but I bet that the girl would get sick of them pretty fast over there. 4. Being that Apollo was the god of Light and Prometheus the Light/Fire Bringer---there is this uneasy rhythm between the two of them that I always found interesting. Chris covered this in elegant strokes in a previous post (https://secretsun.blogspot.com/2016/06/a-future-history-of-light-fall-unveiled.html), but to sum up another way, I would say I agree with the writer Bruce M. Fingerhut's (no, he did not start a mail-order catalog sales of trinkets and as seen on TV crapola online---or did he?) imaginary meeting between the two in his essay, "Apollo and Prometheus on History," where Prometheus states: "The chief difference between us, Apollo, for we have much in common, is that I love man and you do not.”

“The chief difference between us, Prometheus,”
said Apollo with great reserve, “is
that you are the lover and I the beloved.”

Yup - its the flashy, good looking guys who always get the gals if by 'gals' I mean the materialistic vain selfie-obsessed who generally run the world. 5. In the end these epithets are misleading. Call a character a god of sun, god of thunder, trickster god or whatever else. It's colourful but it doesn't mean that when you read the stories that the sun god isn't a trickster or the thunder god can't shine brighter than the sun. It's D&D type nerdism to have a sun god sitting on the sun throne all day and talking only about the sun with solar related puns. I feel that many of these deities were all pretty much functionally the same except this one had a temple in this town and the other a temple in a town a hundred miles away.

    5. I remember well the reports of the Red Heifer from 2001: my first wife was an Evangelical Christian, and the excitement this news caused among the members of her church (a large, very moderate, mainstream Pentecostal denomination; we're not talking about, say, my serpent-handling kin in the Appalachian backwoods) was both touching and a little disturbing: I saw very kind, intelligent, devout folks get tears of joy in their eyes, since this meant the Temple could now be rebuilt, and the Second Coming would soon follow...but who would sort of shrug off the fact that rebuilding the Temple would necessitate the removal of al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock; which was likely to be, um, *unpopular* in the Muslim world.

The whole premise was really something new to me, since I'd been raised in the Freewill Baptist Church, which held to the traditional Christian belief that the Temple had been rendered obsolete with the advent of Christ; and I'd read enough Rabbinic literature (Talmud and Responsa) to know that the traditional Jewish view had long been that the Temple would be rebuilt by the Messiah when he came, and not before. So the Third Temple movement was a great surprise to me.

Unfortunately for the Temple movement, the Red Heifer in question sprouted five white hairs in its tail before it became old enough to be sacrificed. But it got me so curious that I did what I usually do whenever I discover something new and interesting: namely, read every single bit of ink that had ever been spilt on the subject; at least, all I could get my hands on.

Turns out the Third Temple movement gets curiouser and curiouser the more you study it. Seems that the whole thing was started by one man, Gershon Salomon, who founded the Temple Mount Faithful back in the sixties; and for a couple decades, at least, it seems like they were the only show in town, when it came to the Third Temple.

Strange thing is, Salomon was (and, so far as I can find out, still is) a staunchly secular, non-practicing Jew. And when the question of why he wanted to build a Temple for, and restore animal sacrifice in, a religion he did not practice (in the face of extreme opposition from the mainstream Orthodox community, and at the possible cost of war with every Muslim nation on the planet), he would only say, "Whoever controls the Temple Mount has Right over the entire land of Israel". Which strikes me as a pretty mystical statement for a committed secularist.

To make it even stranger, one of his fiercest critics was his daughter; usually described as an "animal rights activist", she introduced veganism into Israel at a time when even many very committed vegetarians had never heard of such a thing as "veganism".

I found all this out from books lent to me by members of my ex-wife's church, or at small local Pentecostal bookstores. Good luck to anyone trying to find it out online. That certain info has been "scrubbed" from the internet is a charge made too frequently, and on too little basis, these days; so it's certainly not a charge I'm making. But I will note that pretty much all the bio you can find online for Salomon could well have been taken from the Temple Mount Faithful website. And his daughter seems to have gone straight down the memory hole.

For whatever it's worth, many vegans now claim Israel as the "Vegan Capital of the World ", and claim that a larger percentage of Israelis are vegan than in any other nation.

Sorry to have went on at such length. Hopefully this info will be of some use to someone!

'About halfway through the Friday night screening of Bradley Cooper’s music drama at the Sala Grande, the theater was apparently struck by lightning, which blew out the projector bulb, according to sources close to the producers.', 'The delay lasted about 15 minutes...', 'The city is experiencing a heavy rainstorm on the festival’s third night. Early reviews of Cooper’s directing debut have ranged from warm to rapturous. Variety’s Owen Gleiberman called it “A transcendent Hollywood movie.”', 'At the press conference earlier in the day, the Grammy-nominated actress said the film’s story has endured the test of time because it’s a universal tale. “It’s a story about love and about what Bradley refers to as the human plight of addiction. It was a remarkable experience for me.”'

The Last gasp of causality might make everything go out with a flash-bang of orb shattering light.

(*I say 2nd remake but the original 'ASiB' (1937) is essentially a twin of 'What Price Hollywood?' a 1932 movie, so that would make 'ASiB'2018 the fifth Hollywood Working of Star Birthing grounded/drowned in tragedy.)

'He listens to a song she wrote, and can tell that she’s got the gift, so after wooing her to one of his concerts, he suddenly brings her onstage to sing that song with him. It’s called “Shallow,” and when their voices melt together on the line “We’re far from the shallow now,” we melt along with them, and when Ally suddenly sends the song into a higher register, you will feel tingles rippling through your body. It’s an absolutely ecstatic moment, because it’s about the fusion of these two voices and souls, about Jackson coming back to life, about Ally realizing her destiny, and about the audience’s rediscovery of what romance in a movie can still be: a volt to the heart.'

    https://www.npr.org/2018/08/09/636006719/first-listen-roy-montgomery-suffuse?t=1536525292654

'...Montgomery tries a novel disappearing act that works. He asked other singers to interpret his words...'

'The seven singers of Suffuse — all women, offering words he largely wrote as he plays guitar — are an artistically diverse lot... one by one, they become Montgomery's voice and foil.'

'They, not Montgomery, are the clear stars here.'

'Suffuse is a testament to a vision Montgomery has spent four decades shaping — powered, let's be honest, by singers more captivating than he will ever be.'

& Low's latest, 'Double Negative' includes a composition titled 'Tempest' on which I've no idea what's sung as the vocodered vocals are drowning in distortion verging on feedback.

'Indiana native Haley Fohr began her experimental indie folk project Circuit des Yeux in 2007, writing and self-recording disturbing, nightmare-like atonal pieces caked in distortion and tape hiss.'

What would inspire such 'nightmare-like'? Queen Bess knows... the title of HF's 2nd album = 'Sirenum' (track 6: A Siren, 7: Shedevil, 10: Binding Feet) & her 2017 album titled 'Reaching for Indigo' was released by 'Drag City'.

    1. er - I should have said possible effects.

"In a paper to be published in the September 2018 issue of Biophysical Reviews and Letters, researchers have discovered that there is a correlation and possible cause and effect between otherwise invisible dark matter particles and melanoma, a type of skin cancer. This opens the door to more research in the interdisciplinary fields of physics and medicine."

    2. Resisting the temptation to go on a geek rant about how the referenced paper seems to be a perfect example of the 50% or so of scientific papers these days that are nonsense (apologies: as someone that's been in love with Science for as long as he can remember, it truly pains me to see so noble an endeavor committing suicide), I'll go with ontological paranoia instead.

Honest thanks, Anon, for posting that link, because it's helped me make sense of another astronomical announcement that's had me scratching my head: namely, the announcement that new research shows that Pluto actually *is* a planet, after all. (In actuality, no new research was done; the researchers merely reviewed the literature to see if any definition of "planet" used in the past matched the definition the IAU adopted when it demoted Pluto in 2006: surprise, surprise, none (well, one, from 1802) did!) I'd wondered why such a non-story was even being reported...

Now it looks like both stories were excuses to get Pluto/Hades and Mercury/Hermes on the minds of as many people as possible.

So Hades is back on his throne, and Hermes (who, it must be remembered, guided the souls of the dead to Hades) is directing rivers of dark energy (kinda like the Styx?) at the Earth.

Of course, I really hope I'm just being paranoid, and these are just examples of lazy science, and not a Working. Thanks again, Anon.

  24. Mentioned a while ago that Disney has a resort called Swan and Dolphin, with dolphins stylized in the medieval fashion you note.

    https://www.yesterland.com/images-sidetrips/swandolphin_bananaleaves2008ww.jpg

"The Dolphin and Swan share similar elements, but each has a distinctive appearance. The Swan's main structure is a 12-story rectangular main structure with a gently arching top and two 7-story wings, on the Dolphin side the main structure is crowned with two, 47-foot (14 m) tall Swan statues." -Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walt_Disney_World_Swan

As far as I know, there's no special goings on there just now; but a lot of resonant symbolism, for sure.

  25. Oh - I missed that there were separate Wikipedia articles for each hotel. One features 47ft statues; the other 17m statues. And 4 9-story wings.

"The Dolphin and Swan share similar elements, but each has a distinctive appearance. The Dolphin is composed of a 257-foot (78 m) tall triangular tower bisecting a 12-story rectangular mass with four 9-story wings on the Swan-side of the structure. The roof of each half of the main mass is adorned with a 56-foot (17 m) tall Dolphin statue. On the main colored facade there is a turquoise banana-leaf pattern echoed by a similar wave pattern on the Swan." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walt_Disney_World_Dolphin

  27. Well, that makes sense. To sum it up, reading straight from Robert Grave's "The White Goddess", quite a reliable source: pigs are the animal of the death-in-life goddess Carydwenn, the red heifer is an ancient sacrifice, once made to a goddess, that represents Venus as the force of the Sun (the other two colors were white and blue-black), and Apollo on a dolphin is the Dauphin, or inheritor, the title of the heir to the throne in France, which held, of course, the sun king. The goddess was also named Carda, "of the hinge", and presided over beginnings, so it may be that the strange show is entering high gear. It is quite the time for the Church to sink, re:scandals, just as the Church emerges, and all in time for Rosh Hashanah, which was on Sunday, September 9th.
