"It Looked Like Armageddon"

.
A lot of readers asked my opinion of the Sunspot observatory closing. Truth be told it was tough to comment on since there was so little information to actually comment about. And as we do around here, I was looking for the tendrils leading to a bigger beast.
.
And it all got thrown into perspective
on Thursday, at least for me.

Note juxtaposition
...
In case you haven't heard, there were around a hundred gas explosions in a Massachusetts city called Lawrence, which is on the border with New Hampshire. I'm hearing conflicting reports but there were anywhere from 40 to 70 homes destroyed in the disaster, ostensibly caused by a buildup of pressure in the lines.
...
The pipeline owner, Columbia Gas, was on scene today for maintenance work so the question becomes was there an accident or where they out there because something was already wrong?
.
I'll tell you my madcap theory. But first, let's double back....
.
...
.
So everyone has a theory on what caused the closing--which came about due to a military operation, incidentally-- and all of them are equally meaningless. Why? Because the people on the ground haven't a clue what's going on, including the astronomers themselves. ..
.
.
.
And certainly not the sheriff:..
Otero County Sheriff Benny House said the Otero County Sheriff’s Office was asked to standby. “The FBI is refusing to tell us what’s going on,” House said. “We’ve got people up there (at Sunspot) that requested us to standby while they evacuate it. Nobody would really elaborate on any of the circumstances as to why. The FBI were up there. What their purpose was nobody will say.”
. He said he has a lot of unanswered question about what occurred at Sunspot. “But for the FBI to get involved that quick and be so secretive about it, there was a lot of stuff going on up there,” House said. “There was a Blackhawk helicopter, a bunch of people around antennas and work crews on towers but nobody would tell us anything." -Almagordo News  .

......
Of course my antennae went up when Mockingbirds started tossing UFOs around and so-called "alien conspiracy theories" that no one except a tiny fringe were actually putting out there.
.
..

It's 130 miles away from Roswell, genius..

..

What was not as widely reported however were that a number of other installations went offline at the same time, in locations all over the world.
...
So maybe it's not just those rascally Russkies filching bandwidth off our glorious neoliberal telescopes. Maybe it's something else.
....
I don't know, you don't know, the people who actually work there don't know..

..
.
...
Then this comes out today. Which speaks for itself. No one knows or no one's saying anything..
..
.
.
But the timing is fascinating. The day after the Sunspot facility was seized we got a warning that a solar wind was on its way and could cause disruption of electronics and such down here. .
.
ETA? September 11th.
.......
.
......
And then we hear California is concerned enough about coronal ejections and the like to order a study on the subject, seeing as how their tech-dominated economy has pretty much the entire cookie jar to lose if a new Carrington Event comes our way.
.....
Incidentally, not only are we overdue for "the Big One," we're apparently overdue for a new Carrington as well. Awesome.
.......
.
.
The tabloid press --especially in the UK-- pissed their pants about the solar storm, but that's just business as usual for those cynical bastards.
..
But the Grid didn't go down and civilization didn't collapse and Krakens weren't released and on and on and et cetera, but what if something actually did happen?
....
Something that we should all get down on our hands and knees to pray to all the angels in Heaven or Las Vegas that is not in fact a sneak preview of things to come.
.
.
People from outside the area probably have no idea what a geological wonderland northern New England is. New Hampshire isn't called the "Granite State" for nothing. It's why a lot of folks think all the orbs jetting around the skies up there are in fact "earth lights." ..
.
If nothing else, there's the whole deal with mica and entities and the rest of it. It's been a while since I read The Eighth Tower, so I'm just spitballing here.
..
.
Now, I know less than absolute diddleyfuck about solar storms but I can tell that the center of the aurora extent --whatever that means-- went straight across the New Hampshire-Massachusetts border.
....
I don't know how that translates into the amount of solar radiation the Granite State was bathed in, but that's sure an interesting coincidence to my untutored eyes. Given the timing and all.
......
And of course this coincides with Florence, which hopefully won't be quite the perfect storm the news media so desperately wants it to be.
....
But let's just Hampy got hit with some potent sunbursts. That in turn excited the mica and the granite and that then put an inordinate amount of pressure on the gaslines and next thing you know it's a fucking horror show.
....
Any of my science-type readers can chime in anytime they like in case I'm just talking foolishness here. I mean, it makes sense to me but you could fit everything I know about the subject in a thimble and have plenty of room left over.
.....
.
.....
But I do know syncs. Yes, I do..
...
...
And so after a week of irritating you all to the point of self-harm with my insane rantings about Apollo and garlands and Sibyls and she-who-shall-not-be-named, I would like to point out that this international headline story happened in a city that IS LITERALLY MOTHER-EFFIN' NAMED after garlands evergreen, chaplets and wreaths. Plus, Apollo..
.

Plus, Dante
..
Bonus sync: the original Lawrence, Laurentum, is smack dab next to an Infernitto, speaking of Dante and Florence and the rest of it. Plus, more garlands. I don't have to explain the rest, I'm sure.
..
This is really starting to get to be a pattern.....
.....

......
Here's another synch for you. Carolina, Lawrence. .Dolphins.
.....
Caroline, not Carolyn.
......

....
Plus, David's son. Guy has an wicked pissa Boston accent, by the way.
......

More cetacean-garland synchery. Whales' Tails, if you prefer.
.......

.....
Speaking of geology, Lawrence is literally right down the road from America's Stonehenge. Which has some lovely alpacas, I might add.

.......
Gosh, things sure have gotten kind of interesting in the past, oh, eleven days, don't you think?..What's that all about?
....
I guess we'll never know.
