Horus Schwarzenegger

This one's going out to Jake and Goro: note the "falcons at your wrist" bit, and then read this...
Osiris came to Horus from the other world and exercised and trained him for the battle. After a time Osiris asked Horus what he held to be the most noble of all things. When Horus replied, "To avenge one's father and mother for evil done to them."

Osiris then asked him what animal he considered the most useful for them who go forth to battle; and when Horus said, "A horse," Osiris was surprised and raised the question why it was that he had not rather said a lion than a horse.

Horus answered that a lion was a useful thing for a man in need of assistance, but that a horse served best for cutting off the flight of an enemy and annihilating him. When Osiris heard this he was much pleased, since he felt that Horus had now an adequate preparation. - Plutarch, Isis and Osiris
Then this:
PASADENA, Calif. – The Spitzer Space Telescope has discovered the biggest but never-before-seen ring around the planet Saturn, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory announced late Tuesday.

The thin array of ice and dust particles lies at the far reaches of the Saturnian system and its orbit is tilted 27 degrees from the planet's main ring plane, the laboratory said.

  1. Chris,
regarding Conan here is an interesting tidbit from the cartoon. Reminds me alittle of David Icke's reptilians:

Secondly: Google is becoming real twisted now. Its main page is a bar code, celebrating the anniversary. Why would they celebrate something like that one must ask. It is almost like promoting the chip implant with the bar codes in them, no? The first article talks about Plummers Island and the DNA sequencing of plants.

thirdly: I found your whole book 'Gods Wear Spandex' on books.google.

  4. Very interesting. I meet a lot of Masons. Really nice people, most of the time, and most if not all are involved with horses in some way. Really interesting. I had not thought of that.

  5. What I like about Plutarch's story is how clearly it shows the esoteric construct of English with the two words "Horus" and "horse".

Is this part of the legend in reference to the Egyptians being able to expel the Hyksos with their newly-acquired horses?
